How to take care of Serbian Spruce Picea omorika
Conifers generally hate to have their roots soaked and need well-drained soil improved with compost. Sand or drainage granules can be added to the planting hole. At the onset of winter and cold weather, water Conifers well so that they enter winter with a burst of moisture. Conifers are evergreens, but they continue to dehydrate throughout the winter. During periods of frost, they tend to retain water from the soil and could turn brown. In February and March, add some natural Kieserites (such as Magnesium Sulfate) to the soil to improve foliage color; if you can't find any, an organic fertilizer will suffice. Do not apply fertilizer before 6-8 weeks, as this may burn the new roots.
