How to take care of Rubus idaeus Fallgold 12 cm pot
This raspberry needs 2 years to get used to its new location and to bear fruit. They prefer a sunny to semi-shady, sheltered location because too much wind can destroy the tender shoots. The soil should be somewhat acidic and not too heavy. Make sure that the soil is well-drained. Plant the raspberries in a row, about 25 cm deep. Leave 50 cm space between the plants. Stretch strings (wires) at 2 different heights (60 cm and 110). Attach the vines to them. Cut back young plants in spring, older ones directly after harvest, at the height of the top wire. Water regularly, especially in the first year. Give some fertiliser over the roots in March and protect the soil from drying out in summer with a layer of mulch. In the first year the raspberry will grow strongly and not produce any flowers, in the second year it will no longer grow in height but will produce many new side shoots.
