This tulip has rich coral red blooms accented by a broad stroke of green right up the centre of each petal, the flowers are long lasting and their sturdy long stems are excellent for bouquets.Greigii tulips are ideal for rock gardens and containers because of their short size, and as an added attraction the have highly decorative green foliage with maroon coloured stripes or spots. Their flowers open wide in full sun. They are perfect for naturalising if you leave them alone, they will multiply and come back year after year.

How to take care of Tulip greigii Toronto x 10
Tulip greigii Toronto are ideal for rock gardens, borders and containers. Plant Tulip greigii Toronto bulbs in well-drained prepared soil in a sunny sheltered spot. If planted in flower pots, plant so they're just touching and place pots in a sunny location. Place Tulip greigii Toronto bulbs with the 'nose' upward into the soil (approx. 10 cm (4”) deep and 5 cm (2”) apart) cover with soil. Always water well after planting to stimulate growth. For best results, as the buds materialise, add a high potash liquid feed to fertilize. Please note to survive harsh winters apply a mulch (straw or newspaper) over them to prevent frost damage. Remove mulch when all danger of frost has passed. After flowering fertilize with nitrogen and allow the leaves to die back naturally, cut the leaves off when they turn completely yellow. Lift Tulip greigii Toronto bulbs and store the dry bulbs in a cool place, protect from mice. Replant in autumn.
