How to use Artificial Christmas tree
In general : Artificial Christmas tree dislike wet feet, therefore plant in well-drained soil which has been improved with some compost, you can improve soil drainage by mixing in some sand or grit to the planting holes. Artificial Christmas tree have strong preference for sandy, acidic soils. At the start of winter water the Artificial Christmas tree well so that they go into the winter with a moisture boost. As Artificial Christmas tree are evergreen trees, they keep on dehydrating all winter long. Avoid shading the base of the plant to prevent the lower part also turning brown - it does not stand shade. Do not apply fertilizer until your trees have been in the ground for at least 6 -8 weeks. It could burn the new roots. During Feb and March add some Natural Kieserite (Magnesium Sulphate) on top of the soil to improve the foliage colour, if you cannot obtain it, organic fertilizer will suffice. Artificial Christmas tree require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and should only be pruned to remove any dead and old wood.
It can be susceptible to insects (mites) and it will infest the plant sooner or later, resulting in stem and needle loss. Ornamental Conifer Trees : Create a spacieous planting hole of at least 40 x 40 by 40 deep. Place the tree at the centre of the hole and fill up with a mixture of 1/2 topsoil and 1/2 compost Soil . Press down firmly and water well for the next 8 weeks. Consider the final size of the tree, some trees will grow up to over 8 mtr others will stay dwarf or up to 3 - 4 mtr
