Calabrese produces medium size, dense heads of bluish-green 'beads'. They are not fussy about soil and will grow almost anywhere. The large deep-green heads are slow to run to seed and have good disease resistance. It's close to the Broccoli family and just like the broccoli it's packed full of vitamins but some find it a little milder than sprouting broccoli.
