Excellent for full shade, the vivid flowers on this showy Clematis are carmine red with deep red margins and soft yellow stamens, a very vigorous and prolific plant it will flower heavily in late summer. Can be easily trained to cover walls, trellises or arches. Only needs to have it's roots shaded Removing fading flowers will promote new blooms to emerge quicker. This variety belongs to late large flowering prune group 2 that needs to be pruned in late winter or early spring and after its first flush of flowers in summer, this will encourage it to flower again later in summer.
