Dryopteris erythrosora also known as Autumn Fern is one of the best garden ferns around and will provide you with a long season interest. In spring the new fronds emerge pink-red, fading to bronze then green. It gets its name from the autumn colours it takes on in spring. Drought tolerant once established. Ideal for herbaceous borders, rock gardens and mixed plantings. Also suited to Japanese gardens.

Care - Usage

How to take care of Dryopteris erythrosora Prolifica

Easy to grow in most cool, moist, lightly shaded sites and will grow in full sun if given plenty of moisture. Tolerant of dry shade but water regularly in their first season and mulch well. It drought tolerant once established. Dead or damaged fronds may be removed as necessary. Propagate by sowing spores as soon as ripe or by division in spring. Generally pest free outdoors and generally disease free outdoors.
