How to take care of Hydrangea Preziosa
Remove the Hydrangea Preziosa (Hydrangea) from the pot and untangle the root ball slightly, so that the roots can grow outwards and not remain in the shape of the growing pot. This will allow it to absorb water better in drought conditions. Soaking the root ball in a bucket of water for 10-12 hours before planting will give the plant a head start. Once you have decided where you want to plant the plant, dig a hole deep enough so that the entire root ball of the Hydrangea Preziosa (Hydrangea) remains just below the surface of the soil. Mix the soil in the hole with some potting compost, so that water is retained but excess water drains away.Place the plant in the hole with spread roots and replenish the soil. Water well and then press firmly. After 4 weeks, add a handful of organic fertiliser on top of the soil around the Hydrangea Preziosa (Hydrangea). The Hydrangea Preziosa (Hydrangea) is best pruned in early spring. If you prune back about 1/5 of the branches every year, you will have flowers every year, and still keep the shrub nicely in check and in shape.
