How to take care of Paeonia Lancaster imperial Bare root
Prepare the soil a few days before planting, work in lots of compost especially if you have heavy clay soil. Peonies prefer well-drained neutral to slightly acidic soil and full sun. Set the root so the eyes face upward and plant the peony in the 10cm (4") hole on top of the mound of soil about 5cm (2") below the soil surface. Then fill in with the rest of the soil around the peony and cover the tuber. Water well and mark the planting location with a cane. Apply a top dressing of organic fertilizer in early spring; flowering usually takes up to two seasons, as they need to be firmly established. Remove old flowers regularly cut down and destroy the foliage after fall freezes to reduce the possibility of Botrytis disease. Leave them undisturbed as they do not like to be moved; they will reward you with loads of flowers each summer.
