How to take care of Persicaria affine Darjeeling Red
Suitable for the rock garden or along a ponds edge. This plant prefers a damp place, but can be fairly drought tolerant once established. Requires a sunny spot and a moderately rich soil. It can tolerate partial shade too. Grows generally quite fast and can grow to very large clumps which needs dividing every 2 -3 seasons. In spring, take the plant out of the ground and cut the clump into several pieces. Each piece needs some leaves and some roots to plant back down. Plant them back in the ground immediately after splitting. Never let the roots dry out. Generally disease-free. Deadhead spent flower spikes. Clean up decaying leaves of perennials around the plant to avoid suffocating the plant.
