This Standard French Lavender makes a great specimen for the patio or by your front door to perfume the entrance to your home. Lavender is one of the most useful plants you can grow in your garden; the pretty violet flower spikes can be dried to make aromatic arrangements or pot pourri. It can be used in aromatherapy for relaxation and its healing properties or simply left to grow in the garden where it will repel pests from nearby shrubs and roses. How to take care of Standard Lavender Stoechas
Feed plants regularly - each week in spring and summer and reduce feeding in winter. Re-pot in spring or summer, when growth is strong, into a pot about 2-3cm bigger all around, use-potting compost. Very good drainage is essential; do not allow them to dry out. To create dense specimens prune the plants after flowering. If you are growing this plant in a pot make sure that the pot is well protected from harsh winter frosts, you can do this by either burying the entire pot in the soil and mulching around the top with a few inches of bark or leaves, or by wrapping the pot in a sack filled with straw and placing it in a sheltered spot or you could move the pot indoors to an unheated room, it does not need much water in winter however do not allow it to dry out completely.
