Andromeda polifolia Blue Ice is a slow growing long-lived compact evergreen groundcover. Due to its low spreading habit reaching 2 to 3 feet tall and wide it also is a great addition to rock gardens, beds and borders and containers. In spring it bears clusters of dainty nodding pink bell-shaped flowers that almost cover the plant and its icy blue-green needle-like foliage provides year-round interest.

How to take care of Andromeda Polifolia Blue Ice
Plant Andromeda Polifolia Blue Ice in full sun to light shade wind-protected site in moisture retentive well-drained, organically rich soil, amended with peat. It needs to be mulched as drying out quickly ends up in losing leaves along the stems. Feed Andromeda Polifolia Blue Ice with a 4-3-4 granular fertilizer for acid-loving plants. Prune Andromeda Polifolia Blue Ice right after it blooms and before it sets fruit. Remove dead, diseased, damaged branches. Cutting back healthy ones will encourage dense foliage production. Ensure the pruning is complete before the Andromeda Polifolia Blue Icesets its buds for the following spring's bloom. Generally pest-free but soggy soil exposes the plant to root rot fungus.
