Also known as Michaelmas Daisies these old favourites bloom from late summer into fall with lots of intense blue, long lasting, daisy-like flowers. Very hardy, forming ever-increasing compact clumps but they need to be divided every 3 - 4 years in the early spring. Plant them in pots or borders and combined with other late flowering plants they will provide color when most other plants are fading. The name Aster is derived from the Greek word for Star.

How to take care of Aster dumosus Wood's Blue
Plant Aster dumosus Wood's Blue in any well-drained alkaline to slightly acidic fertile soil that retains moisture. Place in an open sunny position. Water well after planting. Do not hose over the foliage as this can encourage mildew growth on the foliage. Remove the dead flowers regularly to encourage growth and cut down the stems once the flowering period is over. Please soak the bare roots for 12-18 hours (do not exceed 24 hours). This allows them to take up the maximum amount of water without doing any injury to the plant.
