The Cycas Revolta also known as Sago Palm is a very old variety; leaves from this plant have been found in carbon deposits millions of years old.
It's still here and has been quite recently re-discovered, popular because of its lovely pineapple-like shape and suitability as a houseplant.
They're very easy to care for, quite slow growing and need to be kept in as much sunlight as possible.

How to take care of Cycas revoluta 12cm
Cycas is an extremely long-lived house plant. It prefers sandy, well draining soil. They need a full sun position to thrive in. It will not tolerate shade. Before watering let the soil dry out. Try to avoid overhead watering; this may cause rot and possibly decay of the plant. Sagos much prefer to be on the dry than the wet side. They produce new leaves during spring or summer. Apply fertilizer during spring and late summer. Remove any discoloured leaves from the plant OLD LEAVES MAY TURN YELLOW from over watering or too much fertilizer NEW LEAVES MAY TURN YELLOW from excess fertilizer or poor soil conditions.
