How to take care of Tulip Triumph Purple Flag
These bulbs are ideal for rock gardens, borders and containers. Plant the bulbs and / or tubers in well-drained prepared soil in a sheltered spot with full sun or if you plant in flower pots, then place them in a sunny location. You can improve heavy soil by using (about 1 / 3) sand under the topsoil mix and mix in well. Place the bulbs with the 'nose' upward into the soil (approximately 10-12 cm deep and 5-10cm apart). Cover with soil. Always water well after planting to stimulate growth. For best results, as the buds materialize, add a high potash liquid feed in early spring to fertilize. Remove the faded flower heads as they appear as this helps to promote new growth. Please note to survive harsh winters apply a mulch (straw or newspaper) over them to avoid any frost damage. Remove when all danger of frost has passed. After flowering it is normal to lift the bulbs when the foliage has died back naturally. Store the dry bulbs in a cool but frost-free place and protect from mice. Replant in autumn.
