Flowering Shrub Garden 20-30 cm x 5
Flowering Shrub Garden 20-30 cm x 5
Flowering Shrub Garden is a mixed set of five outdoor shrubs chosen to give your garden a long season of colour and a naturally varied look.
Location
Place this shrub collection in a sunny spot outdoors. It’s best planted into well-drained soil for a strong start.
Contents
This set includes five different shrubs: Buddleja davidii Blue, Buddleja davidii pink, Forsythia x intermedia 'Spectabilis', Spiraea arguta, and Weigela x florida Bristol Ruby.
Growth habit and size
A mixed collection designed to create a varied, layered look in the garden. Allow about 100 cm between plants so each shrub has room to develop into its natural shape.
Plant care
When planting, loosen the root ball and set the plants slightly below soil level, then firm in and water well. Improving the planting hole with potting compost helps keep moisture available while still allowing excess water to drain away.
Winter hardiness
These shrubs are suitable for winter conditions down to –15°C.

Instructions
1) Remove each shrub from its nursery pot and gently loosen the root ball so the roots can grow outward.
2) For a head start, soak the root ball in a bucket of water for 10–12 hours before planting.
3) Dig a planting hole deep enough so the full root ball sits just below soil level.
4) Mix the excavated soil with some potting compost so it holds moisture while still draining well.
5) Place the shrub in the hole with the roots spread out, backfill, firm the soil and water well.
6) After around 4 weeks, sprinkle a handful of organic fertiliser on the soil around the plant.
