Description

This remarkable plant is a mix between a fast spreading perennial and at the edge of a deciduous water plant. It changes colour depending upon its growing condition, if planted in full sun it will create dense ground cover of red, yellow and green foliage, in shaded areas it will be much less colourful. The flowers are pure white are quite insignificant but has aromatic, leathery leaves, this moisture loving clump-forming plant will also grow very well at the side of a pond.

Care - Usage

How to take care of Houttuynia Cordata Chameleon

Plant the chameleon plant, Houttuynia cordata Chameleon, in moderately moist, fertile soil, in full sun or light shade. In moist soils in frost-prone areas, frost protection in the form of a thick layer of mulch should be spread over the plant and roots at the end of autumn. For planting along the bank, plant in approx. 8 - 10 cm deep water. In shallow ponds you can place the Houttuynia cordata in plant baskets to prevent them from spreading
