How to take care of Nandina domestica Firepower
For best results soak the roots for approx 2 hrs before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks. Nandina prefers acid to neutral soil, but it will also do well in rich, moist conditions in summer. Don't let it become waterlogged in winter. Some sun will produce the best colouring, but it will aslo grow in partial shade , provided you choose a sheltered spot. Also suitable for growing in pots. This plant will produce small white flowers during warm summers followed by vivid red berries. Grows to 1.5 mtrs. prune early spring. PLEASE BEWARE; the berries are slightly toxic so do not eat.
