How to take care of Winter Carrot Bergen F1
Sow outdoors in open ground from early spring until early summer. Before sowing, prepare the ground by raking until it is fine and crumbly, removing any large stones. Plant seeds approx 1 cm deep! Lightly cover the seed with soil. When the seedlings are large enough to handle, thin out if necessary. Always water well to encourage germination. Germination will take place in approx 15-20 days and you can harvest approx 110 - 130 days later. Once germinated only water when necessary to keep the soil moist, as excessive water may encourage leaf growth instead of roots.Carrots can be harvested from July to December depending on their sowing date. Pull a single carrot first to assess the size of the roots. If the soil is dry, lifting carrots can be made easier by watering beforehand. Roots can be stored in a cool, dry place for up to 4 months.
