Aconitum carmichaelii arendsii is an old-fashioned hardy border or containter plant and great for planting under shrubs. It has a very special relationship with Bumble Bees, as they’re one of the few insects able to reach the nectar hidden deep inside the arched hooded flower.
Blooming late summer early autumn they make stunning long lasting cut flowers for indoor arrangements. Plant these with some Japanese anemones, to give your garden a new lease of life in late summer.

How to take care of Aconitum carmichaelii arendsii x 3
Aconitum Arendsii (Monnikskap) are hardy herbaceous plants that prefer sun but will tolerate some shade in warmer areas. Plant in a rich, cool, moisture retentive well drained soil, loosen up the topsoil, and fertilize with some organic fertiliser once established. Dry soil can stunt growth. Your soil should be improved by adding compost and peat to make it slightly acidic. Let the plant die down naturally and divide every 3 to 4 years, in early spring. PLEASE NOTE: All parts of Aconitum Arendsii (Monnikskap) are harmful if eaten and can irritate the skin. Wear gloves when handling Aconitum Arendsii (Monnikskap) and should not be planted near vegetables.
Please soak the bare roots for 12-18 hours (do not exceed 24 hours). This allows them to take up the maximum amount of water without doing any injury to the plant.
