How to take care of Raspberry Willamette
Soak the roots for approx. 2 hrs before planting and water well after planting and for the next few weeks. This is a hardy deciduous Raspberry Willamette shrub thrives in a sunny sheltered position but will tolerate partial shade. In colder areas, plant Raspberry Willamette near a south-facing wall. Use a well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. They will not tolerate heavy, wet soil. Drought tolerant once established. Raspberry Willamette do well in various soil types. Raspberry Willamette likes to be constantly moist, but not wet. Do not use any stimulants, fertiliser or bonemeal at planting time as such products will 'burn' any new root growth. During the active growing season an occasional feed or a light top dress with a base fertiliser will prove beneficial. Container-grown Raspberry Willamette plants should be brought indoors in extreme winter conditions. Check Raspberry Willamette plants periodically for pests such as aphids, white flies, and mealy bugs. Use a horticultural oil or insecticidal soap to control these pests.
